White Heather Pipes and Drums 2017
About the Band
The band was started in 1990 by Pipe Major Bob Dunsmore. In 2006, Bob stepped down as Pipe Major and Bill Allison was elected as his replacement. A few years later, Bill stepped down to pursue other interests and David Veitch was elected Pipe Major.
We have a regular band and a Grade 5 competition band. We are an important and vibrant part of the Aurora community. We participate in parades, memorial services, and a variety of events in and around the Aurora area and represent the Town of Aurora at Highland Games and festivals throughout Ontario.
We practice at the Royal Canadian Legion in Aurora at 105 Industrial Parkway North every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Purpose and Goals
The White Heather Pipes & Drums provides an opportunity for people in Aurora and the surrounding area to play the bagpipes and drums in a fun group setting. We also act as ambassadors of goodwill for Aurora Legion.
Our objective is to perform publicly ten to fifteen times a year, including band concerts performed at the Aurora Legion. We constantly strive to increase our skills and quality of playing while accommodating new learners.
